Alameda Point

Alameda Point

Featuring waterfront views, a rich history, and a growing craft beverage industry.

Welcome to Alameda Point

Alameda Point, at the western tip of Alameda, has stunning waterfront views. Alameda Point has a rich history dating back to the mid-1800s.

Initially utilized as a shipping terminal, it played a vital role in the development of the San Francisco Bay Area during World War II, serving as a base for the United States Navy. The USS Hornet, a storied aircraft carrier, is a museum now, permanently docked at Alameda Point. The Alameda Point Naval Air Station continued as a military base until its closure in 1997.

In recent years, Alameda Point has seen significant revitalization projects, with old military structures being repurposed for modern use and new developments. The first housing projects have been rentals, but housing for sale is planned in other parts of Alameda Point.

Ferries leave regularly for San Francisco from the Seaplane Lagoon and the Main Street Terminal. Once a month, thousands flock to the Antique Fair at the Point. Spirit Alley has grown on Alameda Point, emerging as a focal point for the craft beverage industry in the San Francisco Bay Area.
