Rockridge is a central neighborhood in Oakland served by BART. Nestled amidst tree-lined streets and historic charm, Rockridge offers a warm and inclusive atmosphere. The neighborhood accesses the lush green spaces of Rockridge-Temescal Greenbelt, great for outdoor activities.
The area is home to vintage homes from Craftsmans to 1920’s bungalows, and some later additions. The cost of housing in the neighborhood can be a challenge for some buyers. There is a variety of house sizes and starter homes do come up for sale, as well as larger Craftsman homes.
College Ave. is the heart of Rockridge commercial hub with a mix of boutiques, cafes, and acclaimed dining destinations. The marketplace alone is home to a fine bakery, a coffeeshop, fish shop, florist, and wine shop. Down the street are a furniture shop, bookstore, clothing store, and kids shoe store amongst many others.
Continuing on College Ave., you arrive at Berkeley’s Elmwood neighborhood, an area with similar vibe to Rockridge.
The Rockridge BART stop gives locals car-free access to San Francisco in one direction and Berkeley in the other.
