Women’s History Month Real Estate Edition

Women play an important role in real estate both for women as property owners and in the real estate field. First, let’s look at some numbers.

 

 

Do not despair. I have seen the rise of single women buying and the transformation that brings. I have a client who started with a small one-bedroom condo and translated that into a three bedroom home and a path to retirement. I have clients who use an extra room to rent out that covers much of their mortgage payments. I have scrappy clients who used the income from one property to buy another and spent some time living the van-life to enjoy the income from both properties, while exploring the continent. This change creates generational wealth for the women who are single moms.

 

As for those of us in the industry, more women will be in decision-making roles, in an industry where, for decades, women have done the brunt of the work.
