Real Estate on the Road: Chasing Listings Abroad

Like a moth to a flame, I am drawn to the brightly lit real estate advertisements hanging in every real estate office in Portugal and Spain as I travel.

I have to know what’s for sale and for how much. A finça (farm)? Maybe I’ll raise goats. A flashy apartment in the city? Show me. A tiny flat overlooking the Atlantic? I need one, obviously.

I haven’t seen a single open house sign on a weekend here — probably for the best. Otherwise, you know I’d be at every one.

For now, owning my little place in Porto will be enough. But next year…who knows.
